Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
This policy explains what personal information LexReach collects, how we use it, and the choices you have, whether you are a law firm using LexReach or a member of the public contacting one of our client firms.
01Who we are
LexReach ("LexReach", "we", "us") is based in Calgary, Alberta. We provide AI-assisted client intake for independent law firms, covering after-hours phone answering, email answering and website chat. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
02Our two roles
We collect personal information in two ways:
- As a business: when you visit lexreach.ca, book a demo, subscribe or contact us, we decide how that information is used.
- As a service provider to law firms: when a member of the public calls, emails or chats with a firm that uses LexReach, we handle that information for the firm and only follow the firm's instructions. The law firm stays responsible for that information under its own privacy policy and professional duties.
03Information we collect
- Demo and contact requests: your name, firm name, email, phone number, practice area, the time you'd like to meet, and how many inquiries your firm gets per month.
- Subscriptions: your plan, billing details and email address. Stripe processes card payments. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Intake conversations: what people type or say to the assistant, such as their name, contact details, a short summary of their matter, how urgent it is and when they'd like a consultation. Calls are turned into text and logged.
- Technical information: basic logs and your browser's settings, such as theme and chat session IDs, which are stored on your own device.
04How we use it
- To answer inquiries, schedule demos and send confirmation emails and texts.
- To run intake for subscribing firms: qualifying prospective clients, booking consultations and sending each firm its lead summaries.
- To bill subscriptions, prevent fraud and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To keep the service working and improve it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use intake conversations for advertising.
05AI and automated processing
The assistant always says it is automated. It does not give legal advice or make decisions about anyone's legal matter. A lawyer at the firm reviews each inquiry. We use outside AI providers to generate replies and turn calls into text. We share only what's needed to process each conversation.
06Service providers
We rely on trusted providers for hosting, AI processing, email delivery, text messages and phone calls (for example Twilio), and payments (Stripe). Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the laws of that country may apply. Our agreements with these providers require them to protect the information properly.
07Keeping and protecting information
Information is encrypted while it travels between you and us, and only authorized people can access it. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or for as long as the subscribing firm tells us to. After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies a person. Firms can ask us to delete their intake records at any time.
08Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or withdraw consent for your personal information. Email contact@lexreach.ca. If your information was collected on behalf of a law firm, we'll pass your request to that firm. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
09Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new date. For important changes, we'll tell subscribing firms directly.
